Last updated: April 30, 2026 · Effective: April 30, 2026

This policy covers Sunglasses Identifier and other AI "Identifier" apps in the same product line. For Pesos to Dollars Conversion + and Euros to Dollars Conversion +, see Privacy (conversion apps).

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Dmitriy Andrianov ("we," "us," "our"), based in the United States, handles information when you use Sunglasses Identifier or a similar identifier mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to this policy together with our Terms of Use. Capitalized words used here have the same meaning as in the Terms unless we define them differently below.

We design the App to work with minimal personal data. We do not sell your personal information. What we process depends on which features you choose to use.

Information we process

Local data on your device. Sunglasses Identifier stores items such as your last 20 identifications (each containing a thumbnail of the photo you provided plus the AI-generated details), onboarding progress, daily-scan counters, and rating-prompt state using your device's storage. That information stays on the device until you delete the App, clear data, or tap Clear in History.

Photos you submit for identification. When you take a photo with the in-app camera or pick one from your photo library, the App sends the image to our backend (a Supabase Edge Function that we operate) which forwards it to Google's Gemini AI service for identification. The image is processed to generate a result and is not stored by us beyond what is necessary to return that result to your device. Google's processing of the image is governed by Google's terms and privacy notice (linked below). Only submit photos you are allowed to share.

Photos, face-related imagery, and biometrics

The App is for identifying sunglasses from photos. We do not use Apple Face ID, TrueDepth, ARKit face tracking, or any API whose purpose is to capture face geometry, face maps, or other biometric face templates. We do not create or store a separate “face print” or facial recognition profile.

If you photograph sunglasses while they are on a person—or your image otherwise includes a face—the picture you submit may contain incidental imagery of a face as part of the ordinary 2D photo. That image is handled only as described under Photos you submit for identification above: our Edge Function relays it to Google Gemini to produce sunglasses identification results; we do not keep a copy on our servers after the response is returned. Gemini’s retention and processing are covered by Google’s policies. Locally, a thumbnail may be saved in your History until you delete the App or clear History, as described under Local data on your device above.

Purchases. If you buy a subscription, the payment platform (for example, Apple) processes payment. We use service providers such as RevenueCat to validate entitlements and manage premium access. Those providers receive transaction-related identifiers and similar data needed to operate purchases.

Support email. If you email us, we receive your address, message content, and metadata your mail system sends (for example, time stamps).

Third-party services

The App relies on services we do not control. Their practices may change; review their policies periodically.

If we add analytics, advertising, or other tools in a future release, we will update this page and, where required, in-app notices.

Diagnostics and log-type data

When something goes wrong, your device or third-party libraries included in the App may generate diagnostic information (for example device model, OS version, app version, crash logs). If that data leaves your device, it is typically processed under the relevant platform or SDK provider's policies. We use this category of information to keep the App reliable, not to identify you for unrelated marketing.

Cookies and similar technologies (web)

If you visit this documentation site, your browser may store cookies or similar data as described by the host (for example, GitHub Pages). Mobile App Store builds do not use browser cookies in the same way a website does.

Security

We rely on industry-standard transport encryption (HTTPS) where data is sent over the internet and on reasonable safeguards through our service providers. No electronic storage or transmission is completely secure; we cannot promise absolute security.

Children's privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 in the United States, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have received such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Links

The App or this site may reference third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Read their policies before you use them.

U.S. state privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, or opt out of certain processing of personal information. To exercise rights that apply to information we hold directly, email us. For purchases and device settings, Apple and other platforms may be the primary contact.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we treat information we collected from you, we will provide notice as required by law or through the App where practical.
